| SUCCESS WE ALL CAN HAVE IT 2/24/2010 |
|
| |
| All the so-called "secrets of success" will not work unless you do. The difference between try and triumph is a little umph.
The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. |

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful. ~Buddha |

| Tips & Trade Strategy 2/18/2010 |
|
| |
| How can I beat my competition when they have more money?
Advertise more effectively. Advertise directly-don’t send advertising to people that will never buy your product, or to people that cannot afford your services. Advertise in different venues; ones that are exclusive, or does not promote your competition. Find a niche that is yours exclusively. Co-op with other businesses for discounts on ads. Network-it’s free.

| Tips & Trade Strategy 2/17/2010 |
|
| |
| The inside covers of TBCH books are perfect for businesses with multiple locations within your area and even multiple owners at a Special discounted or Group price. Some examples for the insides cover are Curve’s Fitness Centers, Cost Cutters Hair Salons, Roto-Rooter Plumbers, Mr. Electric, Gold’s Gyms, Lumber Liquidators, Ashley Furniture and Planet Beach Spas.
When first starting out a good idea to allow your area to know you are in business is to swap/trade advertising. For example Sport’s activities, maybe a banner or sign in a Roller or Ice Skating rings in exchange for their business card in your monthly book. This could be local sports leagues for Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, Football, Tennis , Basketball or any sport were the public can see your sign or banner.

| Tuesday's Tips of the Day 2/16/2010 |
|
| |
| What if I can’t afford to advertise?
Gather up your client list and offer it for sale to your competitor whose business is still growing.
When times are tough then double up.
That’s what major companies do, and that is why your competition will fold, leaving you their business. Spend every extra nickel on getting new customers. Go door to door-use the internet-flyers-networking-find solutions that double what you are currently doing.

| When looking for new clients for your monthly books, check out the trades or the Business’s name with The Better Business Bureau online. If a business has an A+ or an A rating, then you have a great lead-in or opening to email them telling them congratulations on their BBB rating. It’s a perfect opportunity to tell them they are the kind of business the Business Card Holder desires for our books we mail to home owners, only the Best. |

| BUSINESSES TO HOLD FAST TO SNAIL MAIL MARKETING 1/14/2010 |
|
| |
| According to Teri Evan’s Jan 12, 2010 article in the Wall Street Journal businesses should hold fast to snail mail marketing. Some entrepreneurs who were quick to write off direct mail as too pricey or pass'e are finding it's not so easy to dismiss and in most cases even a huge mistake.
The Article further states; Despite Prevalence of Digital Media, Entrepreneurs Find Old fashioned Direct Mailing Still Key to Winning Customers. Looking to cut cost amid the recession was thought to be a good idea to eliminate a business's annual direct mailing.
Affordability of e-marketing, along with the explosion of social media and the desire to trim cost in the recession, has prompted many small businesses to slash their traditional direct-mail budgets.
Many entrepreneurs today find that the boiler-plate method of the past-such as purchasing large mailing lists and sending fliers or coupons to a mass audience-often aren't cost-effective. There is no doubt, we are their answer, Gosh, they need to call us ASAP, so we can get them all back on track in getting new customers.

|
| |
| The Huntsville Business Expo was just GREAT! Meet lots of other local business owners and staff. Explained to a number of businesses not to stop advertising and let the Business Card Holder help them find their new customers via the local Home Owners. We know how limited Small Businesses advertising budgets are and can work within them to help them grow their business. Business Expos by the local Chamber is a great way to meet new businesses and help advertise your business too. |

| Welcome to TBCHOnline.com 8/13/2009 |
|
| |
| In October 2003, our founder, Darlene Saal moved into her new home. Darlene and her husband were in government service, requiring them to move often. Darlene knew the drill, she began immediately to unpack and get things put away. In the process of setting up her kitchen, she discovered in one of the drawers a stack of business cards. The previous homeowner was a retired engineer who kept meticulous notes on everything in the home. These cards represented all the knowledge of those businesses in the community that had done work on the house. Darlene thought, I should keep these cards and use them the next time I have a need around the house. Thinking, Darlene remembered that some time ago she had received a business card holder from a Realtor® that had sold her a past home. She placed these cards in the card holder and then the idea came to her… |
